Relax, rest and renew with Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra guided by Ailsa. This class will open with pranayama (breathwork) to help ease your body and mind into the grounding, restful and deeply meditative restorative yoga poses. Restorative Yoga poses utilise props to completely support the body so that they are passive and effortless. Restorative Yoga is designed to guide your body into the rest and digest nervous system response where you can experience deep rest, and this style of yoga takes a slow and gentle approach so that you can relax all muscular effort and release tension. If you struggle to slow down, rest and/or sleep, Restorative Yoga offers you a haven of stillness and tranquillity. The rejuvenating and nourishing practice of Yoga Nidra builds on these passive poses to comprise the final portion of the class. Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation practised lying down and guides you between sleep and wakefulness. This state of dreamtime offers you space to connect inwards, cultivate stillness and deeply rest. Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra are both extremely accessible styles of yoga and meditation which are suitable for both those who are completely new to yoga and those who are more familiar with the practice.
