Whether you sign up to our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training or not be sure to ask…
1. Will the course enable me to actually start teaching? I have done a LOT of yoga on trainings, but often there was not much teaching or teaching technique. In our course, we get you teaching a little straight away - just to one person from the word go. Does it feel scary- YES! Does getting the fear mean you will be confident enough to teach by the end of the course - YES!
2. Will I be able to start my yoga career after this course? We know so many graduates of other schools who have to do multiple 200hr courses to get the confidence to teach (false economy if going for a cheaper course). Whereas we have almost everyone - 97% teaching on course completion. We are so happy to support our trainees until they are really ready to be let out into the big wide world of teaching! We also support you with business tools and resources to help you launch into your yoga career.
3. Does it include up-to-date science? Evidence based teaching is still depressingly rare, which means teachers come away worried about injuring their students. We're seek to share research that backs up what you're teaching. To kick that off, here's a 22 minute video with a summary of what you need to know about pain. And, here is an overview of some updated movement science for yoga because we are happy to share research with you, and we do so on the course.
4. Does it honour the roots of yoga? We are all about finding the links between ancient wisdom and the current research. Here's an insta post where I compare the approach of the yogis to what we know about pain today.
5. Does it also reflect life today? I have been on so many rigid, patriarchal, hierarchical courses which can upset the nervous system! We are all about community as well as respecting each of you. We teach real people in real bodies and train you to do the same.
6. What sort of expertise do the trainers have in delivering training? Over the past 15 years we have honed, reviewed and updated our teaching skills and training once or twice a year!! Our tutors have so much experience to sensitively guide the trainees. Many courses expect everyone to “fit in” and while we do expect everyone to support the whole group, we also realise some days are trickier than others! We are so happy to share our trauma sensitive approach with you.
7. Check out the tutors classes, or speak to the lead tutor of the course to make sure you have a connection & you enjoy their teaching and approach to learning.
